Chingay is an annual event in Singapore that celebrates the diversity of cultures in the nation. Volunteer community performers come from all walks of life and congregate to entertain by way of dance and massive floating structures that depict various attractions. It’s a most colourful and vibrant event if ever you saw one. Call it the Rio Carnival of South-East Asia, if you will.

HUAT: an expression in Hokkien - a dialect - to mean to come into fortune. It's just a very Chinese thing here in Singapore. Don't ask me why this title.
