Occasionally I get opportunities to go to photo shoots and lend my assistance to the real professionals. In this particular event I got to work with my own uncle, designer and street photographer Adrian Foo. Being family, it’s always my pleasure to lend a hand when I’m able, and even more so when I hold full interest in the matter. Besides, I always believe there’s something to learn at every professional shoot, and this proved no different in that aspect. Only weeks ago I’d gone through a fascinating day-long shoot chasing the light and slightly less than 20 talents in different parts of town. I’m still nursing the bruised knees, but I’ll get to that in a later period of this year, hopefully.
I also got to meet our model, Maxine Stott. At 19 years old, Maxine exuberated with elegance and a disposition I’d usually only ascribe to someone much older and wiser. Right before she arrived on set, we were informed that the concept of the day’s event had changed almost entirely and required her to hold balloons filled with water. These balloons were, of course, to be popped. Let’s just say she handled every request with aplomb.
Well, nothing more for this post. I hope to check in again another time soon as I make my transition to a new exciting chapter I can’t wait to share with you.
Be well, and thank you for being.
